Let’s face it. Not many people can find the time or energy in their busy lives to keep up with a workout routine. You have to push yourself every day to carve out time and energy for even the smallest of workout routines. I’m going to share a list of pre-workout tricks with essential oils to not only get the energy to work out, but to achieve the greatest burn for your exertions. Here we go!
Working With Essential Oils
Essential oils are something that the average person would not equate as a workout booster, but studies have shown that essential oils, when applied or consumed correctly, have a myriad of health benefits. Remember, not all essential oils are safe for consumption. Please check with legitimate online sources before consuming any essential oils.
Peppermint oil is a powerhouse when it comes to workout benefits. Rubbing a few drops of peppermint oil onto your muscles can help prevent fatigue. Four or five drops rubbed on your chest five minutes before working out can help promote healthy breathing for a smoother workout.
Lemon Essential Oil
This is another oil that is safe for consumption. Just two drops into a 16-ounce glass of water up to three times a day can detoxify your body. It is also good for the respiratory system, can boost your immune system, and will keep you hydrated for long workouts.
Lemongrass Essential Oil
This powerful oil is rich in citral, a chemical compound shown to support heat production in the body. Because of this, it’s a strong ally in weight management and creating energy. You can simply rub four to six drops onto your skin or bare feet before your workout.
Eucalyptus oil is the unsung hero. Just add three drops of eucalyptus oil to a four-ounce spray bottle and spritz yourself generously to stay cool and refreshed. It also helps with strained or fatigued muscles.
Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil can be used post-workout to help with your next pre-workout. How? By using it to wash your workout clothes, of course! Tea tree oil has both cleansing and purifying properties to help get your workout clothes fresh, clean, and sanitized. Dirty workout clothes can be really distracting and, well, gross.
