Couple of days ago Google released its year-end Zeitgeist list for 2011. So what is Zeitgeist?. Every year Google takes a look at what we’ve been searching for on the Internet. According to Google, “Zeitgeist” means “The Spirit of the Times“, and they also reveals this spirit through the aggregation of millions of search queries that they receives every day.
This year, 14-year-old American singer Rebecca Black who became a huge sensation when her music video “Friday” went virel on Youtube, was the queen of search queries and Google’s new social networking service Google+ was the second among the fastest-rising global queries in 2011. Apple become the all-rounder in the top 10 global search terms , iPhone 5 (No.6), Steve Jobs (No.9) and iPad2 (No.10).
